Description:
Ravenea rivularis comes from Madagascar. The species can take a little bit of frost with no damage. In Madagascar, it can be found growing along river banks. Use a high nitrogen fertilizer, especially in warmer climates. Keep fertilized to maintain a lush green color. The cost of a nice specimen that stands about 7 feet tall is about $10.00 at major home improvement discount stores. This Palm is often used as a house plant, but really would prefer more light and fresh air. A shade screen patio will provide an excellent environment for young specimens which can eventually be planted in a sunny location.
