The local chapter of the International Palm Society, The Palm Society--Northern California Chapter, has regular meetings throughout the year. Society meetings are usually at the Lakeside Garden Center, 666 Bellevue Avenue, Oakland CA, but are also held at private or public botanical gardens in the San Francisco Bay Area. Pot Luck lunches, palm auctions, and informed lectures about growing palms in the varied climates of Northern California are usually on the agenda, but seeing new varieties and new collections, and talking with people who adore palms are also good reasons to become a member.
If you are interested in attending our next meeting as a "Guest," let us know, and you will be included in the mailing invitation.
Membership in International Palm Society entitles you to receive the quarterly Palm Journal Magazine. Once you are a member of the International Palm Society, contact us so that we can add you to our roster--There is no additional cost to be a member of the Palm Society's Northern California Chapter. You may join the International Palm Society on-line at, or you can visit their site to download a membership form which you can mail in.
